been lurking for a while but had to sign up to ask this question cuz i couldn't wasn't able to find it via search.

whenever i reply to any gmail using my pearl, the reply when viewed at gmail.com will always show the original email messages before it. its tolerable at first but when the email hits 100+ replies its a pain for other people to look at because online they're forced to scroll many pages down to see anyone elses response to my reply. is there any way to reply to an email on my pearl and not show everyone all the original messages before it. i'm thinking it has something to do with filters or some stupid check box that i couldn't find on the t-mobile website. i'm surprised that i couldn't easily find anyone else with this problem.

Probably not finding people posting about this as it's how things are supposed to work; that email thread has a (hidden usually) message-id parameter. It's this message-id that allows any and all email programs to thread a conversation together coherently; the ID is created by the original sender's app, then simply kept with all replies. The next reply carries the two before it, the next the three previous, and so on. (see RFC-822, email standards).

With GMail it puts all the previous replies in those tabs ahead of the message, as you are seeing. That's this app's webUI way of showing threads (linking of the hidden message IDs). The only way to get around this is to reply to the message *not* using the Reply function of your email program (BB device, eg), but instead create a New Email and cut-n-paste in the content you're replying to; this will generate a fresh message-id and not tie into the previous thread.

There's actually a pretty easy solution to this problem. Just log into your My Tmobile and click Support for My Phone at the top.

Then go to Set Up BlackBerry email on the right

Create a new filter that stops pushing any emails from your Gmail address. That will stop all the sent messages from being delivered.

Note, though, that if you're the kind of person that emails things to yourself, those messages also won't come through.
