Default HTTP Error 400: Bad Request

Please Login to Remove!

I get this error when using the included browser from T-Mobile. It only comes up when I try to access web sites other than the ones that come prebundled in the browser's history. I think it might have something to do with the Blackberry Enterprise Server at my firm, as I could access the websites at issues (e.g. Digg, Dailyrotation) just fine until the Enterprise Server activation kicked in. After that, my emails came in just fine, but my Internet access was (and still is) limited in the way I described above. Similarly, the Opera Mini Browser worked just fine before the BES activation, but now says "Failed to connect to the internet."

I was on the phone with T-Mobile blackberry support forever, and the representative swore up and down that the error had nothing to do with T-Mobile. However, my IT guy (who is very good), says there is nothing policy- or permission-wise activated on our BES that would restrict Internet access.

Any ideas on how to solve this problem? Thanks!

Jim

one way to make sure that it doesn't have anything to do w/ the BES is to have the BES admin send through an IT policy just for your BB.....w/ all internet privledges that they could disable enabled

direct quote from my company's knowledge database concerning that error message:

This a generic Error Message displayed when unable to access a website. This could be do to multiple reasons. If on a Blackberry Enterprise Server check with the IT/BES Administrator to see if there may be an issue with the Mobile Data Server or an IT policy which prevents access to the website. It is possible that the website being accessed is unavailable do to internet or a website problem. Certain websites require specific Browser settings. Adjusting the Browser Configuration settings on the handheld may allow access to the site.

1. Verify the RIM BlackBerry is using the most recent handheld code, update if needed.
2. From the Browser screen, where the error message is being displayed Click the trackwheel and select Options.
3. Scroll to and select Browser Configuration.
4. Scroll to "Emulation Mode:"and select Microsoft IE.
5. Click the track wheel and select Save Options.
