when i turn my 8100 on the tmobile screen comes up. is there any way i can change it. i'm planning to give this phone to my friend who's got cingular. i'll get it unlocked soon but he doesn't like the tmobile screen.

if we buy pearls from online and they are listed as unlocked, do all of them have a provider branding?

does that mean if i get a cingular os it'll change the startup too? can i change my startup from tmobile to cingular?

Someone else already said something like this, I'll have to paraphrase it. "Once a Cingular/T-mobile, always a Cingular/T-mobile". Nothing you can do.

The branding logo & some more information are stored onto some sort of a loader that always stays irrespective of the OS you load onto the phone...

This loader (bootloader) cannot be change i think... this also stores the MEP file, which if can be change, then unlocking any of a Blackberry will be as simple as loading a new bootloader....

just a quick question.... can that actually be done?
