Delete at least the unneccessary things like languages support you won't use.

agreed to the last poster.....the OS itself takes all but about 19MB of the device memory (out of 64 MB).

Well you can free up some by going to option, advanced application and then deleting the BB demo video, also like was said above, if you do not need language support other than English then get all that are in there out. I have done that and total free memory is now 23megs. One more thing, I would suggest to limit the size of the media folder to around 15 in stead of the default of 20 or 25. By doing those I found that the pearl had a better response when opening apps and the perfect test was changing themes. To confirm this, I tried the same on a demo unit and originally when changing a theme it took close to 3 minutes to take effect, did the above and the change went to about 30 to 45 seconds.

I had the same question, so I'll share the knowledge that posters were kind enough to share with me. Go to Options->Advanced Options->Applications and delete anything you don't need. You won't have to restart between each deletion, but you will have to restart after all deletions. I freed up a ton of memory by getting rid of extremely useful things like Afrikaans support. Helped out my lag problem a great deal, too.

I recently bought a 1 gb microSD card for my Pearl. I only paid 10 bucks for it (after a $10 rebate). It was brand new in retail packaging. Go to buy .com to check it out. I got the Kensington one, works as well as the one that is sold at BestBuy for 65 bucks.

Question

Thanks for these tips, very helpful, though instead of deleting languages, can I use my memory stick? It's HUGE!

I bought a 2 GB microSD card and I'm dying to fill it up. I got it for $65 but now they're $60:

Amazon.com: SanDisk - Flash memory card - 2 GB - microSD: Electronics

This may be a silly question but I can't seem to find the answer. Can I put applications on the memory stick? I'm running out of room.

MicroSD will only help if you have pics, videos, and music you can move off the Pearl internal memory

Now why didn't I think of that? Thanks!

I'll just move all of my media off internal memory, onto the microSD card!

I don't see English in the language list besides for "English UK", looks like I can delete them all. Is that right?
