Default software to edit ringtones

Please Login to Remove!

I'm a new blackberry pearl owner and so far I love the phone.

I've already learned how to download a song onto the phone and use it as a ringtone, but is there any software out there that will allow me to cut a portion of a song out ?

Right now it uses the first 30 seconds or so of the song as the ringtone and I want to use a different portion in middle of the song.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I have done this with tuneusin.com

It costs about $14 to register but then can turn any tune into a ringtone and edit as you described. You can also use the site forever once you pay and register once.

i use a program called Audacity also found on download.com. it lets me cut songs, chop and screw, even make them louder (but not much louder without distortion). it has several other features that are useful

Once you cut the song down to 30 secs using Audacity, how do you then convert it to Mp3? When I try to save it and export it as Mp3 it brings up a message saying that I need to use LAME library to handle Mp3 encoding.

i use mp3 to wav converter....

i convert mp3 to wav and then splice with windows sound accessory. I can also increase the volume in sound accesssory.

then convert back to mp3. process takes about 14 seconds.
