i don't think hotmail allows you to transfer your emails to your blackberry..unless you have the premium account or have been with hotmail for a long time...or so i've heard...search around..there's probably more info than this out there

That's exactly right. Hotmail won't work with the Blackberry unless you have the account that you pay for. Yahoo is supposed to work the same way, but it's weird...Yahoo lets me receive my e-mail on my blackberry, but won't let me respond from my Yahoo address.

Here's what I've gleaned from lots of threads concerning free email accounts:

T-Mobile: Yahoo (free) works automatically. I set up my free account, no premium account, and email arrived in push fashion the second it hit my account.
T-Mobile: Hotmail (free) does not work. Maybe the paid "premium" account can be set up, but I don't have one and I'm not paying for one.
Cingular: Just the opposite of TMO. Hotmail (free) works and updates instantly.
Cingular: Yahoo (free) does not work. You need the premium account.

Looks like Cingular struck a deal with MS for Hotmail while T-Mobile did the same with Yahoo for their mail service. If I'm wrong on any of this, it's just from reading lots of posts here. Please feel free to correct anything I got wrong.

I believe this is all correct-- I have a friend who has been trying to sync up her BB and Hotmail-- TMo told her to pay for Hotmail premium account for it to work-- but Yahoo works great for me!
