Default Changing username@carrier.blackberry.net address?

Please Login to Remove!

Hey all - I didn't know how much it would mean to me to have a decent blackberry.net address until after I had already configured my BIS - where would I go (whom would I contact) to change this address? I assume it might be my carrier, and I'd have to reconfigure my BIS afterwards... but I'd like confirmation from someone who may have already been through this...

Further, what should I tell my carrier if I want to do this other than the fact that I don't like my selected email address?

Thanks,
Stacey

Go online to your BIS providers website and delete the account and start over from scratch and make a new BIS account name. Easy!

I don't see a place on the interface to delete the account... If you use Cingular, could you post a URL?

Thanks,
Stac

Well, I've looked everywhere for a way to delete my BIS account in order to re-create it and no dice. If anyone knows of a way to do this other than dealing with the brain surgeons over at Cingular, I'd love to hear from you on this.

Thx,
Stac

I changed mine when I was with Nextel. It required a phone call and could not be done by deleting the account. I do not see where I can delete my Cingular device address either.

Default Cingular Website

I go to mycingular.blackberry.com
Create or log into your account, make changes there.

On Cingular BIS there is no option to delete. I recomend that the OP goes to http://forums.cingular.com/cng/ , register and then go to Live Chat at this link: http://forums.cingular.com/cng/chat?chat.id=tschat and they will most likely be able to help.

You best bet is to call the Cingular Data Support line and have them remove the account, that way you can create a new one.

I agree, but having used their tech chat support I can say that 99% of the time it was faster to use the online help than having to get to the data support y phone.

Nice, I was unaware of how quick the support was online. If that's the case then I'd say THAT would be the best bet.

1. If you just want to create a new @mycingular.blackberry.net...log into your BIS acct. via the website (www.cingular.com/blackberrystart) and use the garbage can icon to delete the email address then you can create a new one.

2. If you want to delete the whole BIS acct....easiest to call Cingular data support directly and they'll do it for you, its real easy for them.

I'm with Cingular and just changed my username for my BIS account. Cingular is the only one that can delete the old account.

There are two ways to do this. Call in (and wait). Or log onto the online tech support chat for devices (very fast).

I used the online tech support chat.

They deleted it at my request and I simply started fresh and setup a new BIS account: Total Time: 8 minutes.

Cheers.......
