No email, no browser

I have a new 8100. I created a new BIS account from TIM (the Italian mobile phone company) website, with PIN and IMEI, and I sent the service book. But the 8100 didn't received it. There are no Browser and Email settings icons. There is only the Enterprise Activation (but I don't have any BES plan!). In the Advanced Options I tried to register with the HRT. The message is sent, but nothing happens. I also tried to reset (wipe) the 8100. At TIM they said it can be a problem of "alignment" between the RIM and the TIM database, but I think they don't know what is going on. Does anyone has a suggestion? Thank you!

It looks like you've done just about everything I can think of.

What does your service indicator in the upper right say? GSM, gprs, edge, GPRS, EDGE.

If you just activated service, your data plan may take up to 24 hours to turn on.

The indicator say EDGE. The phone is working. I activated the service six days ago...

Then I would say verify that you put in the correct PIN and IMEI. Otherwise, ask them to send you a warranty replacement. It sounds like your phone is not receiving data.

yes, PIN and IMEI are correct.

See if TIM will exchange it for you.

Do you get an error message stating "Data Connection Refused"?

He has a data connection. He gets the capitalized 'EDGE'. His phone just won't receive any data transmissions.

Exactly. I only receive messages like this (when composing an email): "No messages services configured".

Yeah, that means that the service books are not on your phone. I would get them to replace it. You've tried resending the service books and pulling the battery for 10 seconds, right?

Sounds like a faulty device to me.

I found the solution: the Blackberry wasn't activated, TIM simply forgot to do it... Now everyting works fine. Thank you to everybody.
