Question Application Switcher

Please Login to Remove!

How exactly does this work? I have it set as my left convenience button but it doesn't show all applications but it does show some that I have hidden.

I believe that it works from programs that you have open or that are on your main page. Anyone confirm?

I don't know if you can get that to work by just pressing one button. Normally you would hold the ALT key and press the ESC key to open the Application Switcher, and then while still holding the ALT key you could use the trackball to scroll to the app you wanted and then let go of the ALT key to switch to the app.

I went to Options, Screen/Keyboard and changed Left Side Convenience Key to App Switcher. When I use your method, I get the same options.

Ok, I just re-read your post, and now I understand it better. When you bring up the Application Switcher, it only shows apps that are currently running in the background.

I just started using the application switcher and notice that BB Messenger and the Browser are in the list even though I haven't used either program in a long time (in fact I've never used Messenger). I have turned the Pearl on and off a few times and pulled the battery to reset the device a couple times as well since using the Browser last. Are these programs always running? Any way to shut them down? Are they eating up memory by running in the background?

I have a Cingular Pearl w/ the Cingular OS.

Thanks

Phone, Home, BB Messenger, Browser, Messages are the programmes that always running in the background.

You can always go back to the HOME screen from App Switcher to select other program that you would like to open.
