Angry why no radio on my BB Pearl? - 01-07-2007, 03:31 PM

One the of the reasons I got the latest BB pearl was to listen to a local radio station when I am travelling around the world. The broadcast (a BBC local radio) is available on the web cause I've listended to it, but can't seem to get it on my BB?? (getting really frustrated).

There is a program out there for streaming audio. Radiobee most people don't like it I use it constantly, it's a very finicky little app. no streaming audio over 48k stream rate. search the forums for Radiobee. I posted all my settings that work for me. good luck. hit me up if you need help with it.
Whats the website for the station I will see if we can use it on RB before you try to dl it!

Try Googling for RadioBee. If your lucky you can listen to the station your wanting to.

Your BlackBerry (or any other mobile device) is not as full featured as your desktop PC/laptop. Just because you can do it there does not mean you can do it on a mobile device. I would recommend that in the future you research the capabilities of a device before you purchase it and get frustrated.

Remember, please try searching first!

Need a screenshot? ... Like JavaLoader?
Try using BBscreen .....Use JL_Cmder!
or BBScreenShooter!

Try this link: BBC - Cambridgeshire

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like they offer a stream that is compatible with RadioBee.

I think you are out of luck for now, until someone creates an application for BB that allows streaming of that sort of thing (looks like realplayer).

What gave you the impression that it COULD play web radio streams?

peace,
sam

I heard of someone who wanted to listen to the BBC world service over the BB Pearl using one of the streaming JMRE players but the world service is only broadcast in WMA and REAL so he downloaded shoutcast and winamp and played the stream in winamp and sent it back out in MP3 using SHOUTcast on the same box.. I understand you can set it so only one connection can be made and even secure it so you have to know its there and the IP address to get to it... just a rumor though...

You can try mfradio if radiobee doesn't work. Mfradio is a little more stable and as long as you can get a streaming address and a port, you can use it on this app.
