Default very silly question - how do I turn on screen without disturbing apps?

Please Login to Remove!

If I am downloading something and the screen goes dark, how do I wake it up without changing whats going on in the application?

(Sorry for the silly question but I don't see the silly answer anywhere).

I hit the return key and that never disturbed anything even when the cancel is highlighted.

I use the volume keys, too. I silence email vibe's and rings when it's in the holster that way too.

My solution is to not load any disturbing apps onto your Pearl.
