Default Pearl O2 UK unlock query

Please Login to Remove!

Hello everybody,

I wonder if anyone can help me.

I have a Pearl locked to O2 in the UK, I contacted a company who confirmed they would be able to unlock it, I provided the IMEI and PIN informed them it was a pearl locked to O2 in the UK.

Two days later I recieived an email with instructions and 2 unlock codes in case one or the other failed. They both failed. Is there a required number of digits in an unlock code both the ones I was supplied with were 8 digits, but I am sure I read somewhere they were 16 digits. Can any one confirm?

Many Thanks
Marcus

The unlock code for my 8100 was 16 digits. I got it from Adam. at gsmphonesource.com. Always had great luck with him.

Adam from GSMPhoneSource confirmed in another thread that BlackBerrys outside of the US can have 8 digit unlock codes.

I see,

So they can have less than 16 outside the US

Still the codes I was given did not work.
May have to demand a refund and go to GSMPhonesource
Should have gone there in the first place judging by the feedback they are getting

Thanks

I was under the impression from Adam's post in the other thread that Canadian BB's had 8 digit codes and all the rest had 16. I'm no unlocking expert though....I've unlocked only one!

Don't try the wrong code more than a couple of times. After 10 (some have said 5) tries the phone is permanently (meaning forever) locked.

The unlock code for all blackberrys in the uk has 16 digits not 8, Contact them an demand a full refund as no one in the uk can unlock blackberrys other than the Networks, Try GSMPhonesource as oester has recommended

Hi,

I'm just interested, did you ever manage to get your phone unlocked?

There are no free unlocking services. Try GSMPhonesource.com or one of the many unlocking services out there.

Again, there are no FREE unlocking services. The codes cost money to buy so therefore cost you money to buy. The only way to get it done for free is to contact your carrier and see if they will do it for you.

Hello,

Sorry for the rather long delay lilyblossom, Yes I did get it unlocked from GSMphonesource top notch service.

They supplied me with a 16 digit unlock code which worked first time.

I did get a refund via pay pal for my original order with GTAunlocking on ebay. They seemed to have decent feedback, but when there is a problem or issue all communication was met with a stony silence no reply to anything.

GSMPhonesource however absolutely TOP

Cheers
