Default Should application for BlackBerry 8700 be compatible with 8100?

Hello Guys,
I have been looking for a good GPS Navigation software recently. There are the following options available:
- BB Maps
Pros: Very fast, vector maps
Cons: Does not provide turn-by-turn directions
- Wayfinder Navigator 6 ($99)
Pros: turn-by-turn directions, POIs, interactive display and menus
Cons: not campatible with all GPS Receivers (no current speed and it shows I am driving sideways), map downloading is very very slow, data plan dependent
- TeleNav ($10/month)
Pros: turn-by-turn directions, POIs
Cons: monthly subscription, data plan dependent
- Garmin Mobile for BlackBerry ($200, $140 software only)
Pros: Maps stored on Memory Card

The software Garmin Mobile XT is compatible with BlackBerry 8700 therefore my question is:
Should it be compatible with BlackBerry 8100?

Thanks,
Peter Bakalov

P.S. Does anybody have any suggestions for other GPS solutions?

The major difference is (a) firmware, and (b) screen size. Most applications still have a hard coded screen size into their applications, which reduces compatibility. And firmware, you'd hope that RIM makes all it's firmware backwards compatible, but you sometimes reach unforeseen modifications in the firmware that can't be made backwards compatible. Then, its the software developer's job to make the necessary modifications.
