thats not true when they mean branded phone,after you put in the battery if the tmobile does not come on the screen after a min or two that means its not branded. cuz i scrached off mine and they took it any way with no probs.

On white i would imagine that that would show up more on the white one than the black one.

I'm just telling you what the CSR said.

To be sure, lots of people get away with lots of things so maybe they won't catch it or could care less.

And I'm not saying that there are not other ways to tell if it's a T-Mo phone, but the CSR said they look for the logo.

So far it seems like no one has even thought about doing the sugar trick on the white Pearl. Wait a few days until more people have them and get daring enough to try it.

OK - I tried it. Rubbed and rubbed and rubbed and rubbed, until I had rubbed the skin off my finger. Logo completely unaffected. Pearlescence completely unaffected (whew!). Leads me to believe that T-Mobile is using a different technique to apply it's brand name to the bottom of the phone.
