I have recently purchased the BB Pearl 8100, and have noticed that the LED light which usually flashes, stays solid green after each call. The only way to make it start flashing again is to either power down or turn off, then on the wireless connection. I'm not certain what could be the cause of this, and hope there is a solution other than returning it to RIM.

Any help on this issue would be much appreciated.

you have to download the lastest os upgrade. i upgraded to the cingular version and that problem is fixed.

As asasyn half explained, this is a bug that was fixed in later versions of the handheld OS. Here are the steps you need to take:

- Make sure Desktop Manager is not running
- Download the latest version of the 8100 Handheld OS from the Cingular.com web site
- Execute the program that was just downloaded (onto your PC)
- Locate and delete VENDOR.XML on your PC C: drive
- Restart Desktop Manager and connect the BB

The update should now start.

I noticed the same problem with my new Pearl on 02 in UK, and the Cingular update has resolved it.
