Exclamation Blackberry on a Sidekick Plan (T-Mobile)

Please Login to Remove!

Hey guys, I'm new to the forums.

I recently got my first blackberry, but after first being informed that I would receive 300 incoming and outgoing text messages with my Blackberry Unlimited Addon, it appears that I will not. If i call T-Mobile custserv and ask them to upgrade me to a sidekick plan (given that I will provide them a sidekick IMEI), would the network coverage be compatible with a blackberry pearl?

No. The Sidekick plan will not help at all. In order to use any data on a BlackBerry you muse have the BlackBerry Data Plan. Without a BlackBerry Data Plan all you have is voice and SMS text.

Well, thats unfortunate. Do you think I can make a case against T-Mobile saying that they misinformed me, so therefore they are responsible for adding on a text messaging plan free of charge? My initial 14 days have passed and now I am locked into a 2 year contract.

For $5 I think you can get 400 more txts. Ask 'em that. You can also add applications that use data instead of txt and data is free (and so are the apps I think).

I just don't understand why I don't get the 300 texts. Why would they call it the Blackberry Unlimited Addon unless it was exactly like the Blackberry Unlimited Plan (Data Only). I'm paying $19.99 for data and $9.99 to add my line to a family plan, hence I'm paying $30. So basically I should pay for an extra text messaging bundle in exchange for the ability to add my line to a family plan? Sounds a bit ridiculous. I'm faxing in a copy of my contract into T-Mobile tomorrow. The idiot would wrote up my contract wrote down Sidekick 3 Plan next to my blackberry imei number. Hopefully that'll be enough to score me a free text messaging plan.

Well when I upgraded from my Sidekick 2 to the 8100, I deleted my sidekick unlimited add-on and added the Blackberry unlimited, EVERYTHING worked on the BB,the email and everything and I still got the unlimited text messages that came with the sidekick plan aswell as the tmail address with the SK desktop. But cant modify my BB email from the TMobile sight, thats the only let down.
