Default Suretype and URLs?

Please Login to Remove!

Have been thinking about trying out a Pearl. As I was sitting here on my 8700 and entering the URL of a website, it made me wonder how much of a pain it is to do this on the Pearl and if most people switched to multi-tap mode when entering URLs.

URL's are not too bad. Passwords are the worst.

Whenever I enter a password in my Pearl it switches to multi-tap mode, which I believe is the default since it's a password.

I just don't find it very intuitive to enter passwords. I find ways around it by choosing a suretype friendly passwords. If it wasn't for my companies IT Policies, I would of not have a password to unlock the device after 30 min. I do wish the forward slash was on the main keyboard rather then in the symbol library. That would be my only complaint about URL's. Other then that, Suretype is pretty good.

I agree that the slash should be somewhere on the main SureType keyboard. For the most part I loved SureType. I just switched to an 8703 (full keyboard) from a 7130 (SureType) and I'm still getting used to it. I had become very fast using SureType, even when symbols were necessary. Now it seems like I'm very slow.

To enter a forward slash (at least while in the Go To... box) hit the Shift key, then the Space key.
