Hi all!

I've been posting in the 8700 forum telling everyone that I'm switching from VZW to Cingular and picking up a pearl.

I have 2 Q's for Pearl Users:

1. What do you typically get for battery life? (i get 80+ email a day and reply to most of those. as well as use Google Talk... Oh yea... and Phone... cause it does that too )

2. I need a holster for the 8100c... But i dont want a leather "man purse". I just want a black plastic holster like i got with my 8703e (Preferrably with Sleeper Magner). Suggestions?

I use my phone for about 4 solid hours a day, doing something or other. By 9:00 pm I usually have about 20% battery left. I plug it in while I sleep, and in the morning I'm good to go again.

Can't help you there, I don't use a holster.

I prefer holsters typically, and hate the leather "man purse", but not the case with the pearl. This phone is smaller, shinier, better looking, and seemingly more delicate than my 8700g was. I did not mind scratching the crap out of the 8700g slamming it in and out of the holster 400 times per day, but that is to rough to do that to the pearl. Once you own one, you will see what I mean. I looked for a holster for a minute, and then just bought a slim leather "man purse". With the smaller size I really don't think it looks to bad, and it is not constantly trashing the phone. The guys I work with are really quick to make fun of people and I was worried I may suffer some abuse, but nothing. Just get the leather case.

As far as battery life is concerned, I am a heavy user and typically end the day with 10 - 30 percent battery life. You need to plan on charging it everyday, but it shouldn't leave you hanging. I often am at the office until 8 or 9 PM, typically removing it off the charger around 6:30 with heavy use starting around 9 AM. A solid 12 hours of HEAVY use still yields good battery life, you should not be disappointed.

I made the switch from an 8700 to an 8100 and have not looked back. You will love having a small phone again.

For the holster, get the Seidio holster. Good quality. I have the un-skinned and like it a lot.

Thats not the one i was referring too. I have the one that is made out of a hard plastic, not leather. When I received it in the box and when I first grabbed it, I was surprised at the "feel". It has a really good feel. Solid construction.

Now for my final 2 questions...

1. What is Cingular's NIS Site??? I cant find it for the life of me...
2. I Thought that the beauty of the Zen theme was that it separated out TXT Messages (as it did on my 8700). This does not seem to be the case on the Pearl? Am i just missing a setting?

I just bought the one they sell at the T-Mobile store. There are about 10,000 cases out there that are generic that fit the Pearl. Anything with a magnet will get the functionality that you are after.
