So I tried the Cingular Pearl in December and had the worst time with voice quality but i keep reading how amazing voice quality is. Did i just get a bad phone? should i try again? whats your experience

Are you talking about the speaker or the mic? What voice quality [callers or outgoing] What's the issue, faintness, static?

I have a T-Mo Pearl and sound/voice quality is perfect, both speaker and mic. I have asked callers how I sound and they say good, as if not on a cell phone.

As to the speaker and ear piece, those are good too.

Make sure you have nothing obstructing the the ear piece, speaker area or the mic [the mic is at the bottom of the phone. A little hole that is easily obstructed].

If the problem persists, do a battery reset.

Are you in a fringe area for phone reception?

If that does not work, call 611 on your phone for tech support.

If you can't work it out, then get a warranty replacement.

I have a Cingular Pearl and it works great. I use it in the Northwestern, and Southwestern parts of PA. It might also depend on the reception you are getting.

Nothing but good voice quality here in Central PA. I went from a Razr to a 7130c to the Pearl, the quality of calls got better each time I upgraded.

It is also possible that you have a defective phone (bad mic, bad speaker, bad radio, etc. Maybe you can get a replacement device from Cingular.

well, i returned it like an idiot not thinking i should try another unit. I got a treo 750 but im hating the windows OS. Im going to give the Pearl another shot. It must have been a bad phone since the area I live in has great coverage. Full bars with my past Treo 650. Thanks for your advice guys.
