ScanDisk is a good brand and I never had any problems with them
As for teh 4gig I am not 100% that the Pearl OS supports more than 2gig.

If you are any other forum members got info showing that it does support more than 2 gig let us know...

Wow i see that you are talking about SD cards, the Pearl will take only microSD cards. The max for these kind of cards is 2gb. There are 4 and 8 gb microSD cards out there but i dont think that they are widely available, cheap or supported by the Pearl. So to recap you need to get a microSD card and 2 gb is the limit. As for brand name i would reccomend either Sandisk, Kensington (I currently have a 1 gb installed), or PNY. There are people on here that use other brands as well, but you can find the three i mentioned pretty cheap online.

Don't get any card bigger than 2GB because the current OS [meaning you have the latest OS] does not support cards bigger than that.

Be careful NOT to get a mini-SD or SD card, the Pearl needs the SD card specifically designed for cell phones, the MicroSD card.

Generally I have stuck with SanDisk and Kingston cards. Those are the two powerhouses for memory and most chips work fine. I say "most" because I had a few SanDisk go out, but that may have been my fault. But I have never had a Kingston act up.

Be careful of buying counterfeit memory. SanDisk sellers on eBay, who are from China are a hazard. If buying on eBay, look out for memory that is made to look like SanDisk chips [color, graphics], but in actuality such are not.

On eBay I only buy memory from sellers who sell memory as a profession and their feedback indicates total confidence in that the seller is selling genuine chips from SanDisk or Kingston.

Generally, don't ever buy used memory from a private seller on eBay. Too much risk that they fried the chip and when you contact them to say it is not working they say "Oh, well it was working when I had it and please see my ad where it says 'sold as is'."

If you buy on Amazon, such deals are generally safe.

Bonus Tip: 4GB chips are only just coming out. You need to check any and all of your devices to see if the device can handle a 4GB chip. Many devices, such as cameras, MP3 players and cell phones have limitations. It's not simply a matter of the chip being the same size as that which fits in the particular device.

Good luck.

You can get microSD or transflash cards. Forgot to mention that before.
