Default Tmobile pearl on Cingular

I am currently getting my T-Mobile blackberry pearl unlocked by T-Mobile. I am wanting to use it on Cingular. I know I can use the voice on it, but will I be able to use the internet on Cingular, if its a unlocked T-Mobile Pearl?

Yes, once the Pearl is unlocked it can be used on any compatible network with all available features and services for that provider.

One more question... I want to set up my plan for Cingular which I am doing over the phone because my work provides a special way to do it. But the blackberry is not yet unlocked from T-Mobile, the problem is I have to do it by today or wait for next Tuesday. If I give Cingular my MEID for the blackberry even though its not unlocked yet. Will T-Mobile be able to catch on before they send the unlock code or if theres a problem with the unlock code and I need to call can they see that in going to be using it with Cingular?

Well in order for the phone to work on Cingular, it has to have a Cingular SIM card. I don't see how they can setup your account if the phone hasn't been unlocked yet. As far as T-Mobile 'seeing' anything, you've already asked them to unlock your phone. Therefore, they know you're going to use it with another carrier.

Well I have a Cingular sim card, so I could just give them the number on the card and on the phone, then when its unlocked it will work.

I told T-Mobile I will be using it over seas, as ive been told that they will not unlock it for other US carriers. But I tried to get it unlocked once before but the unlock code didnt work so they refiled a report for it. But if it errors again I just want to be sure they wont be able to see its linked to a Cingular account already.

You could just bypass T-Mobile and get it unlocked from a third party. See link below:

Remote Unlocking By IMEI For Any T-Mobile USA Blackberry Including ( 8100, Pearl, 8700g )

On a similar note, if I am buying a used Pearl (t-mobile) with the intention of using it with Cingular, will t-mobile unlock it for me (non t-mobile user) if I call them?

"TMO will unlock a phone at your request, but you must have continuous service with us for at least 90 days, be an active customer (not suspended or canceled) and in good standing."

In short, No!
