click the search button and put in "tether" and you'll find a complete guide.

ok thanks a lot guys, I got everything to work.

if you're a cingular user... use...

+cgdcont=1,"IP","wap.cingular"

don't use the capitalized command found on other pages.

does anyone know how to increase the speeds? I'm getting 115KB and I heard you can go up to 900KB.

thanks a lot everyone

EDIT

with the speak easy test I get only 218 kbps download and 78 kbps upload. I'm impressed however... web pages load as fast as my cable connection with only a 5 second wait for the page to process. But the info loads just as fast as my cable.

On its best day EDGE doesn't go to 900k. Are you thinking about EVDO?

Good depends on what you are paying for.
If you are paying for 10mb download, the 5857 stinks. If you are paying for 6mb download, it's great.
Check with your ISP.
