Lexus Bluetooth problem with 8100 and 8700
I have a 2006 Lexus GX 470 with the factory installed bluetooth kit. I have the Pearl and my wife has the 8700c (both from Cingular). While the bluetooth works fine for the most part - my biggest frustration is that the bluetooth will not turn on until the call is connected (you can't hear the ringing) when I dial using the blackberry device.
Has anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it?
Same issue on Honda
I have the same issue on my Honda built in car kit as well.
I have no issues with my Headset though but when I look a both device the Headset shows as a Handsfree headset under the profile, but the car kit shows as a Handsfree module, so whatever the difference between the two it obviously has this annoying bug.
This is a little of topic, but I was interested in a Honda Accord, and I read that none of them have bluetooth built in. Which model and year do you have?
I have the same problem as the first two postings, with a Lexus 400H.
i dont know why you are having that problem but i do know that not all phones have the same type of bluetooth. there are a lot of differant types and the one in your car might not fully support the one your phone has..i have the cingular pearl and a bluetooth kit for my truck that intergrates into the stereo...its called the PARROT 3200.....i know you dont want to have to buy something that your 50,000+ car came with but it works perfect.it transfers the phone book, call history and all the voice dial features work, so you dont have totouch your phone for anything and i also has caller ID.
just tryin to help out........
How I Solved This Problem
I had the same issue on my wife's GX470. The problem is compounded by the fact that the Lexus Bluetooth interface does not permit dialing while in motion. I noticed that if I dial through the car's touchscreen, there was no delay.
Did a Google search and found LockPick at coastaletech.com
I now have full functionality through the BT kit in the car and no lag. I never have to take the Pearl out of my pocket while driving. Install was very easy as well.
Does the lockpit resolve the delay when dialing from the blackberry? It seems to allow dialing while the car is in motion but not the delay in connection between the blackberry and the Lexus.
