To get rid of that go to Applications ---> Options ---> Network ---> Turn Data Services to OFF.

Yup.

When I first got it, it was on the MEdia Net plan. This was because I knew someone who had the cingular connection so he told me it would work with the MEdia Net. He was wrong. Call them and they'll send you the browser and stuff like that, but they will then upgrade you to the 29.99 plan, This IS ON CINGULAR. So, if you have the 29.99 plan, they'll add 4.99 for 200 messages, and 39.99 for 450 minutes. Yes Cingular is very expensive when it comes to this blackberry.

On the other hand, Tmobile is much cheaper. 59.99 for 1000 min, unlimited data and email and messages. Much, Much cheaper.

Anyways, im guesing you're on cingular. Call them and upgrade.

Then again, if you can find a thread posted by me here about the data plan, someone explained that if you had the MEdia Net, you could make it work with the Blackberry internet and mail. never could

You *might* be able to get Opera Mini to work with regular cell phone data plans but you will not get push email or be able to download apps.

Wirelessly posted (8700g: BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

Blackberrys are pretty simple when it comes to service:
Without a Blackberry Data Plan you get Phone service and SMS. You must have the BDP and you get email, internet browser etc.
