Default Msn messenger using SMS on T-mobile

Please Login to Remove!

Well i've just recently purchased a BlackBerry Pearl 8100 and when I was reading the features i saw that it had msn messenger, one of the reasons i bought it, but after i had received my blackberry I tried to sign on msn but then realized i couldn't find it. After surfing the web for a couple hours i read that i would need a data plan for my blackberry but i don't really want to spend another $30 a month just for something i can do with my previous phone. So I was wondering if i can use msn messenger using SMS instead of data, since i have unlimited sms on my plan and don't have data. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You will get the Messenger icon once the phone connects to the Tmo Blackberry service. The program itself does use SMS messages, once its installed. The application is called the OZ Instant Messenger....

Im not sure if you can find the file somewhere online, or might need to activate, get the icons and disconnect the BB service...

You may not be looking in the right place or you may not have the icon with the "IM" in it.

Call TMO and they will send something to your phone to update it.

You need the data to access the messenger but they will charge you for the messenging as a text message. So you'll need a data plan plus a text plan. I found that out the hard after being charged for every instant message as a text all 710 of them.
