Default File Size/MP3 length limit for Media Player? - 02-15-2007, 09:10 AM

I have an mp3 that is about 117MB and 4 hours and 45 minutes long that I have just thrown onto my Media Card. When I play it in the Pearl Media Player, it will not let me fast forward. Anyone know if there is a limitation.

I have smaller 3-4MB mp3's that are 4-5 minutes long that allow me to. I also have no issues with avi's that were compressed with the Blackberry Video Converter.

I may going to try the Multiplay app but I am not sure.

Feel free to try it zimbu1234, the extreme test case we have provided for testing during QA tests is 45:00 mins and were able to scroll it and set seek position. Should you face any problems please do let us know in here, we would be glad to fix it for you.

Thanks for testing, we can now add that to our features list that we handle well large files and tested upto 4:45 hrs

Many more features are being added up and we plan to give out a trail period for the professional mediaPlayer too, hope you all would like it.

You may want to rethink this. I am pretty sure I got it to work earlier but now I can't. When I fast forward through it shows that i am x minutes into it, but its still at the same place (the beginning of the track) or sometimes it is just silent. It may work and just may not be stable.

We can fix this I guess.

Zimbu,

I am doing the same thing 5-5.5 hour radio program captured and then moved to my Pearl for daily entertainment using the native MP3 player. What are you recording and how? I use audiograbber (free) to schedule and record the radio shows I am recording. I haven't had any problems at all, 2GB MicroSD and a ton of music and my radio shows. I can even fast forward through commercials. Let me know what you are doing and I might be able to help.

Just guessing but it could be the codec used for creating the MP3.
