If I use AOL IM
on the pearl, is each message charged as a text message?

If you are using the OZ Messenger that came with the T-Mobile Pearl, then yes you are being charged for SMS (text).

Bummer. Is there a non-OZ instant messenger that is AOL compatible? That is charged as data and not text? Tia.

JiveTalk is better. Http://www.beejive.com shoot them an e-mail and they will let you be a beta tester. It has all Im's such as aol, yahoo, msn, and icq. JiveTalk is better than ramble and uses data!

Cool, thanks. I sent them an email.

I also got Ramble working. Seems ok so far, but it seems to disconnect me. I _think_ it has to do with putting it in the holster, but sometimes it's still connected when I take it back out. Hmm...

Hey I got JiveTalk. It's sweet! I like the infterface a lot better than Ramble already. Thanks for the tip!
