It has nothing to do with turning of Pearl for night. Emails are polled by servers in RIM, pushed to device when it is in coverage, turned on.
What may be happening is your office closes firewall every night (against hackers, perhaps). RIM servers can't poll your emails, so they give up and invalidate account.
You wake up at the morning, office firewall is open, you can validate account.
It is rather silly idea to turn off firewall for night, but check with your office IT if they do that, or may be they just power off email servers for night- same effect.
