Default Viewing memory status

I just want to clarify this and see if it's working correctly. I just bought and inserted a 1GB microSD card. When I go to Options > Status it shows the File Total (65MB) and File Free (8MB) memory. So my memory card isn't showing up there. If I go to Options > Advanced Options > Media Card it shows the Total and Free space down at the bottom at 952MB each.

Is this normal that the memory card doesn't show up as File Memory but only shows up as a Media Card?

Yes, that is normal. Option Status only shows you the "onboard" memory and not the micro SD Card.
