Default Poor Signal on the Pearl????

Please Login to Remove!

Hey All,

After having my pearl for about a month, I have to complain about the crappy signal. I dont have the greatest reception in my room but I used to have a samsung slider phone and it wasnt as bad as the pearl! When the pearl is searching for signal, it takes forever! After having the phone sit for maybe 5 minutes, it finally catches signal and than periodically, its searching for network again! Really frusterating! I've already had the girlfriend yell at me because i wouldnt pick up her calls but it was because my phone would lose service and go straight to voicemail! LOL

Anyways, any of you have a similar problem? Also, what can i do to get better service? it only happens in my room, but then again, im in my room alot once i get home. IDEAS?!?!?!

my phone has great signal in my area. i never see it go below 4 bars. i dont think its the phone but the coverage in your area since you said you also experienced problems with the other phone you had. i use 2 different services, tmo and cing - one personal and the other for job related, and usually in my experience, when one carrier has low signal in the area, the other one has good signal. maybe thats just me though. also you're gf isnt really understanding

I was thinking he might have done something in the past to make her that way.

haha... like having a history of not picking my phone when people call? Dont worry, it is all unintentional, sometimes I either leave the phone in the room or just forget about it, it was more w/ my old samsung tho... since i've had the pearl, its my new bestfriend, and sometimes my girlfriend gets annoyed because im on it so much!... Its okay though, my girlfriend is very understanding and great, so its not her...

its the phone + crappy service in my room as to why im frusterated.... i admit my room just gets really bad service, but like i said before, my old samsung wasnt as spotty and sporadic with the service like my pearl now...

any ideas to get better service in my room? I ordered a plastic casing for my phone and it came with a "ANTENNA BOOSTER" as a free gift... let me tell you that there is a reason why its free - it dont work! I know there are like signal boosters you can get but they're kinda pricey...
