Wirelessly posted (8700g: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

To transfer media between your desktop and BB, load Desktop Manager on your desktop and use the Media manager within it.

DST- hopefully that was a one time event. There could be another round time snafus in October when the original DST was scheduled to end. Did your Pearl update the time Ok on yours? If so, don't worry about it.

Browser, I use the default browser "most" of the time. I use Opera at times for the secure sites like banking, some just work better on Opera, and there's nothing wrong with having or using both.

Sorry I don't remember your other questions, I'm on my BB on the WAP site and I can't see all your Qs on one screen.

Good luck.

I was actually late.. and patched mine on Sunday AFTER DST had initiated, since I noticed that my BB didn't update properly.
You can basically just look at the time listed, or go into the Date/Time portion of your Options menu and double check if your BB time and the Network time it displays at the bottom are matching. I think it might be a good idea to patch anyways for when the end of DST rolls around.

I usually turn on "Mass Storage Mode" because I have a MicroSD chip, and then connect my Blackberry to my computer via USB. Load Desktop Manager like JSanders said.. and when you properly connect, your computer should recognize your phone as a USB storage device (for your memory card), or yeah you can use the Media Manager to load up your ringtones and movies.
Read the sticky at the top of this forum for compatibility on your movie though.

Personally, I'm not a fan of any phone's default browser.
I use Opera Mini 3.1 HiFi.. I've ALWAYS been a huge fan of OM, and it displays websites wonderfully, and is actually quite fast. I highly support and suggest this.

I'm not really following what the issue is. I know you can't connect.. but what are you trying to connect to? What are you trying to do using Bluetooth?

That's how the backlight auto dim feature works. In brighter situations the screen goes bright, and the keypad goes off because essentially.. they think it's easier to see the screen and you save battery by not having the keys lit up when you can see them in the light ;)

SO JUST PATCH MY PHONE? IS IT SOMEWHERE IN THE STICKIES THAT WILL GUIDE ME TO IT?

DO I JUST DOWNLOAD MEDIA MANAGER OFF THE NET?

Yes, search the forums or just look in the 8100 forums for "DST Patch Your Phone Before the Weekend!" for detailed instructions and help on updating your BlackBerry.

The "Media Manager" is part of the BlackBerry Desktop Manager.. you can download it from either the BlackBerry/RIM website, or by popping in the CD-ROM that came with your Pearl.

OM = Opera Mini. Just an abbreviation.

Personally, I have never tried connecting my Pearl to any other phone via Bluetooth just yet. Might be a restriction in the software.. but I would continue messing around with it.

If you have your Desktop Manager Software loaded, Media Manager should already be there. Try opening Desktop Manager and looking.
