Unhappy I need a little help!

Please Login to Remove!

Ok guys, this might sound like a stupid question, but I cant figure out how to load a new application using desktop manager. I have the newest version of it installed (4.2) and I can use the media manager with out a problem. I would like to install some 3rd party apps like the blinkberry one mentioned in previous threads, but cant seem to figure it out. I have searched but cant find exactly what I am looking for. Thanks in advance.

I have not used DM in years but there should be an option in applications area of DM to add a new application...

Click the add and then select the COD file to add.....

Desktop Manager > Application Loader > Add: find your app to be added, follow the instructions.

If you open DM and then select Help... About DM... Device Software tab...
what does it say?

I feel your pain! I am on Linux and can't use DM..... If you don't use DM and it is not available OTA then there is NO way to get it....

You can borrow a PC and put DM on it (my GF PC has it just so I can update my OS)

OK... so no entry below the header. I *think* you need to have a device software package loaded on your PC to be able to successfully use the 'Add' feature of the App Loader. I hope someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Next step... on your Pearl, go to Options... About...
what does it say on line 3?

You're on TMo, right? Got to the t-mobile website, log in and go to the support page for the Pearl and download the .64 system software package. Install it to your PC. When you open DM and look at Help... About... Device Software tab... it should show the package. Now go to App Loader and try to use the 'Add' function to find and load your 3rd party app. Let us know if this works.

ok, I went to the TMo pearl support page, but did not see the .64 system support package as an option to download. Im going to try and re-download desktop manager and see if that might help.

Ok, I downloaded the the link and it made a big difference. Now it lists all the applications on my pearl, and im sure that this is how it is supposed to work, but it still gives me the error message. maybe the app file I downloaded is bad? it is the one from the link in the "blinkberry' thread. Im not sure what to do next.

So you click 'Add', and then navigate to the blinkberry alx file? Is the cod file in the same location as the alx?

I just figured it out, sweet! I just ended up coping and pasting the alx and the cod file into a seperate folder on my desk top and then adding them from there. It works perfectly! Thanks for all your help sarbin.
