Default Long Movies Not Playing On Pearl

Please Login to Remove!

Hello Mates,
Well, it seems that I'm having trouble playing videos on my Pearl. After I convert a LONG movie file (+1 hour) my Pearl refuses to play it. I had no trouble with short files like TV show episodes, but converted movies that are longer in length do not play on my Pearl. Please let me know if there is any way that I can play long movies on my Pearl.

What program did you use to rip the movie? Long movies do play flawlessly on mine.

I'm using a program called "Blackberry Video" but it uses the Mplayer conversion thing to do it. Let me know what you use. Maybe I need to change the program I use to convert files.

i think it happens because while player is trying to load the video to play, the screen turns off. and so when you click trackball or press a key to bring the screen on, the video is not playing.

i am able to play movies of 1:45 hrs with no problem. i use mplayer for conversion. all i do is that when i click on movie to play, i move the trackball so that the screen does not turn off. the movie will take a few seconds to load, and then it will be fine. it works for me, you can try it out.
