Um...It used to be orange and faster, now its light blue and slower. Also I think it used to be 5 across, but now it's 4.

As for adding the TIM theme to your Cingular .73 OS did you try this?

Edit BlackBerry.alx Go right below the Bell Mobility entry in the themes section of that file and add:
Code:
<!-- TIM filesets -->
<fileset Colour="True" JAVA="1.0" series="8100" _vendorID="115">
     <files>
           net_rim_theme_115_240x260_b.cod
     </files>
</fileset>
Be sure to change _vendorID= from 115 to what ever your carriers number is (such as 102 for Cingular/AT&T, 100 for T-mobile, 109 for Rogers Canada)

Next copy the file "net_rim_theme_115_240x260_b.cod" from the 1.66 into the 0.73 java folder.
Start up Desktop Manager, connect your BB, open Application Loader and install... it should only take a short moment to add that to your BB. It will reboot, then Options / Themes and hopefully it is there.
Yup, i've actually did that many times but when the theme shows up in the phone it comes out out of place, meaning......instead of the theme coming out they way it suppose to, it comes out showing like another theme and the main home screen is like empty, distorted, get what i mean.

Dont know what's going on though, i think im doing everything right.

P.S. Master Jibi.........where are you? lol.

ceesthoen:

I was at home, disconnected from company's network, when I was upgrading the OS; therefore, the Desktop Manager was not able to re-activate my Pearl with the BES. I'm now on the company's network, the Desktop Manager had the device re-activated and is working fine.

Just a note -- I tested the Alarm at the request of a PM, and it works the same as in .71; if you set the alarm + 10mins snooze, then don't touch the phone when it goes off it will not ring again in 10 mins.

I guess RIM wants you to wake your butt up and actually hit the snooze button for it to work right...

Yeah this function should become automatically back into SNOOZE for the preset time if its not acknowledged in say ... 2mins?

Bad oversight here RIM.

What is the difference between this update and the Black Cingular 4.2.0.88/4.2.0.71 update? I am running the later one and have no problems or issues with it.

Default ATT and cingular themes

I upgraded also and noted the ATT theme is not the most attractive. My question is whether I can be on the new OS version with the old cingular theme.

My search of the old blackberry.alx file shows this was called:
net_rim_theme_102_320x240.cod which doesn't seem to be otherwise referenced in the new .alx file.

So is getting this going just a matter of working with the .alx file, or aren't the fundamental theme files in the new build?

(after lots of searching - I have really found the definitive FAQ on how all the .alx and java files work, so I am still piecing it together).

One other question - is there any way to change your vendor ID and startup and shutdown graphics (I am guessing these are in rom and may not be editable??). FYI: - I have a TmObile Pearl and am running it on cingular.

Does installing the new Red software update the start-up/media net/shut-down screens from cingular to at&t logo's?

I know it installs the new at&t theme but i still have the cingular splash screens after i did the upgrade...seems odd....shouldn't everything be identical to the red pearl device? Did i miss something?

I know it's a trivial thing and not very important but was just curious to see what others have experienced.....i just like the globe better than the splat thing.
