Default Help with Contacts please

Please Login to Remove!

Hi
Only got my Pearl a few days ago so forgive me if I'm doing something obviously wrong but I can't view my contacts and its driving me nuts!
I've entered about 20 so far and was quite happily going into the Address book to list them for editing etc etc. However, all of a sudden when I go into Address book it says *no addresses* - where have they gone??
They are still in the phone somewhere because if I go to make a call and press a letter it lists all of my contacts beginning with that letter so I know they're there.

Does anyone know what I have done and how can I see my list again?
Hope someone can help
Peter

you might have a filter set that you are not aware of. Check that out.

Pete, by any chance have you been adding contacts to the SIM card, not the BB Address Book? SIM cards will only hold a name and phone number, not an address, email, etc. You will probably know if you've been adding complete info on your contacts. I sort of doubt this is it.. but.

To look at your SIM card, go to Address Book > Options > SIM Phone Book

Hi

Yeah I thought about that but the sim card is saying that there aren't any contacts on it.

If I go into address book and then 'options' it says that I have '21 Entries' but none are showing.

Pete, do you have First Name and Last Name entered in those specific fields, or Company name? What is your Sort By set to, under Options?

If you don't have First or Last or Company entered... no showie.

yes - all of the contacts had a first & last name and up until yesterday were all showing in the list and I was able to edit etc.

The only thing I have changed in the last 24 hrs is insert a 2Gb memory card but have since put the original back in to see if that had an effect but it didn't.

I can still add contacts but they then disappear and only show when I dial.

You've sorted it for me!!! I changed the 'sort by' to last name and hey presto - they appeared

Thanks very much indeed

Pete
