Whay OS is your desktop computer running, WindowsXP or Vista? If Vista, make you have 4.2 of Desktop Manager.

The latest version of Desktop Manager is v4.2 Service Pack 1 (4.2.1.8).

This is the first version that RIM actually says is compatabile with Vista.

BTW - you should stick to DM 4.2 SP1. DM 4.1 is NOT DST 2007 compliant. If you insist on using it, turn of syncing your computer's time with the device.
