Default BRICKED my NEW 8100 Due to Rogers

Please Login to Remove!

Really scared right now.

> I really should be out getting DRUNK right now BUT I decided to update the firmware of my BB device 4.2.051 (shipped) to the .061.
> I did this at work after backing up pretty much everything except anything having to do with 3rd party software.
> after the reboot everything seemed fine & was BUT the firmware did NOT update.
- NOTE: I totally forgot to STEER CLEAR of the Rogers 0.71 firmware!! :(

NOW I decided when I got home - just 2 hours ago, to upgrade to that SAME firwmare 0.71 (PEARL - Rogers).
well it took FOREVER to detect the device during the erasure of full firmware/apps on the unit ... guess what?!

- It could NOT find the unit.
ERROR Device communications error encountered. [A:0x00000025]
> NOW the unit doesn't fully power on just a double-blinking RED LED every 4-6seconds!!! :O

> Shite! what I wouldn't GIVE for a leprechaun to save the day with some help & Shamrock shake, frack the pot of gold he can KEEP that.

this is where I'm at trying the same software install

Applications to be installed or updated:
BlackBerry 4.2 System Software
BlackBerry 4.2 Core Applications
BlackBerry Attachment Service
BlackBerry Certificate Key Store Browser Library
BlackBerry CMS Library
BlackBerry Crypto 1 Library
BlackBerry Crypto 2 Library
BlackBerry Crypto 3 Library
BlackBerry Crypto Applications API Library
BlackBerry ECMAScript Library
BlackBerry Key Store Browser Library
BlackBerry Maps
BlackBerry Messenger
BlackBerry XML Library
BrickBreaker
Browser
DOD Root Certificates
Help
MemoPad
Phone
Tasks

> Now the Erase ALL app data & currently installed apps boxes from the advanced button are greyed out (as there where when I initially tried to go to the .071.

Is there ANYTHING I can do the resolve this NOW?

Since you have already backed up the device...

Download and install Jl_Cmder.... It's in my sig... Run it and wipe the device using it... Reinstall the OS and restore the previous backup!

LunkHead!

Thanks for the quick response!!! - may I pray that you NEVER retire or go on vacation.

However.
I reverted back to the original firmware that came with my BB 8100 Pearl & I must say ....

1) The Leprechaun KING heard my prayer and came to the rescue - without shake.

2) My jnr "Unofficial" BES Admin training skills came to the rescue ...

3) RIM makes an INCREDIBLY amazing quality device!

I'll bet ALL 3 came to work here ... as my Pearl NOW shows the everlasting hourglass.

Thanks :D
