8800/8300 Software on 8100
 

Does that work?

Is it possible for me to use on my 8100 software from 8800 and 8300, when it comes out that is??

nop no one has been able to do that yet. hopefully the do the same updates to the 8100 that they are doing to the newer ones. they can do it its the same processor and everything. the question is if they will.

Why would you want to do this? It is not possible.

the software for the 8800 and for the better 8300 seem much, much better than the 8100.

How do you know what the software on both of those devices is better?

Have you gotten your hands on the 8300? And I could see that maybe you have used an 8800, but have you really gotten enough time to feel out both the Pearl and the 8800 to see the difference? I thought they essentially had the same software, just different screen size.

Ditto. If it were meant to be interchangable, RIM would have said so. I think you have a right to try anything, but be prepared for anything from success to bricking your phone...

Just from what I have read from BGR, engadget and others, it seems as if the software interface is much better. Just by seing the pics I like it already. Thats why I was wondering. Just being curious.
