I doubt RIM will be adding that to the OS. Might be a long wait just to save $5.

E-mail the developer. Give them your PIN and they will give you a new number for reg.
Sounds like computer error on their end, a typo? Easy to do when they are typing in your PIN to get a reg code.

Yeah, I did. It's difficult to discern if it's the capital letter O or the number 0 in the pin number. Gonna change the font to see if there's a bigger difference.
*edit*
Ah- it is a zero.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8100/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)
The colors are much better when the automatic backlight is set to on. However I upgraded to the italy os just to turn the backlight option off :(

PIN's are in HEX format meaning numbers from 0-9 and letters a-f
Hopefully this will help with any future questions of "is it this or that?"

Why thanks! That'll help me remember!
*hijack* Hexadecimal was my favorite character on Reboot... Now if I can only figure out the internet settings so I can install Opera...but that will be the chore for tomorrow*end of hijack*

Ok, after 30 minutes, and going back to the default white color, i had to purchase it white looked so dingy.
As far as affects to battery life goes if any, id venture to guess that:
Least Effect (uses only 2 leds.. the color and the white)
blue
green
red
Most effect (uses 3 leds... 2 colors and the white)
Pink (red, blue, white)
Yellow (green, red, white)
Aqua Marine (blue, green, white)

It means you're trying to install/download the zip file. The file inside is what you need.

Seriously. You obviously managed to scrape the cash together to buy a brand-new smartphone. Just skip Starbucks one time and that'll about cover it. It's just plain sad to see people not strapped for cash go so far as to straight-out ask how to circumvent the registration for five dollars.

Actually its priorities.
I mean I may need that cup of coffee to keep me up through that test or work or project, where as if I can save money on something else, there isnt any harm done.
Besides...support the guy.
maybe he'll release an automatic backlight program for us instead of that Tim Italy-full-of-issues-on-crack-one

So save money... and don't use the program. The same way mankind once survived on cheap coffee from Dunkin' Donuts and 7-11, it'll be ok if your trackball doesn't glow aquamarine.

A little story to illustrate to each their own on the $4.95 cost of this program.
One time when I was at a flea market [back before eBay] I stopped at this guy's table who was selling a bunch of used tools.
He had sold lots of stuff and was down to just a few tools left. He also had a pile of bolts and screws, some were pretty nice stainless screws.
So this guy stops and looks at every damn screw and bolt the seller had. He then starts putting his selections into a little pile. After that he goes through the little pile and selects from those and starts another little pile. By then he has two screws left, that is, the ones that he wants.
He then asks the seller "How much for these two screws. The seller says "10 cents." The guy then puts down the screws and walks away.
WTF? 10 cents was too much? And this after the guy spent five minutes sorting through the mess.
Moral of the story: Pay the $5 for the program and quit spending so much time posting that you wish the program was free or complaining about the price. Or as Bazmonkey says, just don't buy the program.
Truth be told, I bet the developer is shaking his or her head in disbelief that there are some people so cheap they refuse to pay even $4.95, which in my opinion is a ridiculously low price.
Last night I was in Walgreens and I was going to buy some of those delicious new Altoids mints, chocolate covered cinnamon thingies. Price: $3.29! Don't tell anyone, but I can eat the whole tin's contents in about 45 minutes while in front of the PC.
For about $1.60 more I can get a program that changes the color of my trackball, a program that will last longer than 45 minutes. That's a no brainer.

I noticed one difference between the free trial and the version I paid for yesterday: in the free one if I put my pearl in the RIM leather pouch that I use the trackball stayed lit for 15 seconds. After I paid it goes out immediately (I like that). But it still stays on for 15 secs if I hit standby.

So can someone please tell me what happens after the program is suppose to expire. It's already the 30th and my program still works, I'm not trying to be cheap and not buy it but if it keeps working why the need to purchase. Unless the trial has less functions than the full version.

I am not sure, but I could swear I saw somewhere that it was a 30 day trial, but when I installed the program I saw it said I had until the 30th of March or something like that. Might have been some other program that I saw the 30 day trial and I'm just confusing the two.
In any event, maybe the program stops working on a reboot/reset of the Pearl? I could see where the developer may not have wanted to hassle with additional programming that would stop the program after a calculated time. Far easier to just have it stop working once one resets the Pearl.
Just a thought.

I think since it runs in the background that it will cease to work after a reboot. Mine is past the trial period too and it is still working.

I just paid $200 to have my Bberry replaced cause it took a shot of tequila! So $5 to make the "pearl" change colors is worth every penny. =)
I would've even paid $10 for this cool feature, without a second thought.

Whoever said that it would change to blue and it would change to white, maybe you just see the diluted blue because the white makes it very very soft in color.
