I had the same problem with my phone for about a week and then it just started working again, but T-Mobile had me reload the OS and go into advanced and make sure it deleted everything off the device and then reinstalls it all.

ah! ok so i called tmobile and they didnt have any "quick fix" solutions. they said they would give me a trouble ticket number and a "high ranking" engineer would look into it. apparently, not enough people have called in an complained that its not working. So i say to all of you, PLEASE call in and let them know this is a major inconvienence! We need our MMS messaging.

I get about half of my MMS messages, my girlfriend has the pearl too and she has the same problem. My friend has the dash and she has the same problem so I guess its just the service.

The other night when I was having issues MMSing and found out there was an outtage in my area and when I called TMO I asked about this issue and they try to blame the sender as the problem. I told them when my GF is sending me pics about half the time I get a blank MMS and have to ask her to resend it. They told me "sounds like a problem with the sender and their device attaching image to the message." I call BS...

Wirelessly posted (blackberry pearl: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8100/4.2.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

Mine does the same thing. And if you hit the "retrieve now" option, it just hangs there. What's really funny is TMO sent me some type of advertising mms, and I couldn't retrieve it! Lol! I'll make a call right now.
edited to say-I've noticed the problem occurs mainly when things are sent to my tmomail.net addy instead of either to my phone# or my tmo.blackberry.net addy.

If you can't bother to use the SEARCH function, why should I do it for you?

has ANYONE tried sending THEMSELVES an MMS from their BlackBerry to itself (your own mobile #)? To reprovision yourself on the network?

Call in get Tech support and ask if there is something wrong with the MMS provisioning for you line ... I remember something like latency or some "R" word for old ... not retire but .... O I know ... "Legacy" (so its not an R word)
See if Legacy is set if so on TMobile's network its a bad thing.

btw > although not related to BB units ... Legacy allowed for phones like the NGage to receive MMS/Picture messages even though it couldn't send them directly (remember Nokia's EMS non-standard?) I'm hoping this isn't the reason but if it IS and its doing this automatically its bigger problem than what TMobile knows about.

I this with TMO to TMO MMS or TMO to another carrier? I have tried only so far with another Cingy customer and he received no problem. He sent to me and I received also.

Resolved similar prob on Vodafone UK by going to Options / MMS and setting:

MM reception: Home Only
Auto Retrieval: Always

Notifications:
Allow Delivery Confirmation - checked
Allow Read Confirmation - checked
Confirm Delivery - checked
Confirm Read - unchecked
Message Filtering - both boxes unchecked

Also worth checking with your carrier that MMS is provisioned on your account, particularly if you've recently added a BB data plan.

Great info ... on that last part ... provisioning - especially on Tmobile US its a tricky term. You may have provisioning on your billing account (which means nothing just that you're paying for the service) and you may have it in the switch as Legacy which is a bad thing ... my old provider Fido, had a rep that told me otherwise and after 15mins speaking with a tier2 I was vindicated as being correct on another device of course but same principles apply.

So sending yourself an MMS and receiving it confirming you can open it FULLY turns on the "provisioning" then troubleshoot receiving from another provider.

Once again its been a splice & hope this helps.

Settings do not work for TMO US, Just tried them and they do not work. I am having the same problem with intermittent MMS as well. I called TMO CS last week and they told me it was a known issue and they were working on it. I havent called back since.

My MMS problem started when I upgrade to Italy .66 OS, I have since went back to Cingy .73 because .66 caused all kinds of issues. Just was not worth all the problems!

I had this same problem. Mine was because I was missing the MMS config service book and it was solved by re-registering my device on the network.

Let me know if anyone would like assistance in attempting this as a solution.
