my phone randomly loses its EDGE signal and says nothing, when i try calling it says call failed, texts wont send, cant recieve or anything, and its a brand new phone as i just recieved my replacement from tmobile. any known problems?
i get kind of the same problem. Whenever i'm at my cube at work and i do get a call it's crystal clear. never a dropped call. but every now and then my phone looses signal and goes to "searching" and then finds the signal again. Usually i'm at 2 bars, but what bothers me is that it usually goes into "searching" only if i'm touching my phone. so if i pick it up for a text messege while i am typing I notice the service goes away.

For me this problem happens when I try to go to some web page by Opera Mini.
But not always. Can anyone somehow make it clear why this happens?
I had mine go to no service one day when I was heading to a friends cabin. I figured I just didn't have service but thought i should in that area so I pulled the battery and put it back in. It worked after that.
I've seen this before when roaming on other carriers. Many times it has to do with the priority of the different signals the BB is picking up. If it picks up another carrier like AT&T it will switch but then it will say "searching" and you can't make a call because there is no agreement between TMo and AT&T in that area. The phone will hang there for a while, sometimes until you turn the wireless off and on.
You may be stuck with this in this particular situation.

You may just be in a low coverage area like me, I get 2 bars at best in my home and it frequently "searches for network". T-mobile has always had bad reception where I live, but as long as it works where my job is I am fine.
