Default Help deleting 3rd party apps!

Please Login to Remove!

I've installed a couple games that I want to now delete and for some reason desktop manager doesn't 'find' them for me to delete them. Seems funny, but shouldn't I be able to delete things from my blackberry USING my blackberry? Are there any 'file managing' programs out there that will allow me to get at the folders of these games so I can delete them? (I'm not too tech savvy so I'd be too scared to use something really back door).

Thanks (again!)

On BB go to Options-> Advanced options -> Applcations and find the games you want to delete. Press the wheel on them and delete option then.

Then, when in Applcations after clicking the wheel select modules and check the list for it. This is a process - the list is quite long and module names look different than applications - but I see not other way.

Did you load the game with javaloader, App Loader, or OTA?

If you load a .cod file with javaloader, it will not show up to delete on the phone or DM. But if you go through App Loader to load something else or even nothing at all it will usually delete it because it is not a recognized application. Or you could just use javaloader again to erase it. If you have trouble erasing it, then you need to figure out the filename of it to erase. Sometimes I rename a .cod file and have to find the original name of it to delete it with javaloader.

If you install it with App Loader it should show up on the phone and it should also show up in app loader unless you deleted it from the list. You can add it back to the list by clicking on add new if you still have the .alx and .cod on your computer. Or you could try checking the checkbox that lists applications found on the phone.

If you installed OTA it should show up on the phone to delete. But you could try going to App Loader and checking the checkbox that says something to the effect of listing applications found on the phone.

Hope this helps. Let us know what happens.

ok..here's my situation: I have a mac and loaded it with Pocketmac via desktop. Then I tried to DELETE it using pocketmac which 'found' the application and asked me if I wanted to delete it..to which I said yes...to which nothing happened. So I got RID of pocketmac and bought MissingSync for mac (which works better but has no 'add/delete 3rd party software'). So I went to a PC and uninstalled my games (except Dopewars which the Desktop manager doesn't show anyway). Does this make sense? So..I've tried to search for it all over my phone but can't find it...it sure would be nice if you could just click on the game via BB's desktop and in the menu button have a "delete" option!! any ideas?

Have you rebooted the BB since you deleted the app? Many times the BB needs to be rebooted after deleting in order to completely get rid of it.

If by rebooting you mean turning the phone off then on again? Yes..I haven't done a battery pull though...but the strange thing is that I can still play the game!! it's still on my desktop and now I don't even know how I can delete it again so I can do a battery pull after I delete...hmmmmm

Just pull the battery and see if the game is still there afterwards (it only takes a minute to reboot.) Many 3rd party apps will stay on the home screen after they've been deleted until you reboot the phone.

Now try to delete it before you run it again. Sometimes I can't delete an application if i ran it recently. Pulling the battery for a minute allows me to delete it.

It's defenitely reluctant to go. How about just living with it on your BB?

I am running on OSX and run into the same issues. I wonder if pocketmac has effected our phones in the same way. Can you load OTA plazmic themes at all? Anyhow, There is no fix, Dont bother trying on OSX until pocketmac releases a better version. I would suggest getting on a PC and reloading your OS. (after a backup), then try to delete them if they are still there.

I think that pocketmac loads apps in a wierd way, and some of them fall into some mystery zone on the BB. I have the same problem, as soon as I can access a PC and install all the DM crap I will let you know if it fixes mine.
