While the unlocking policy varies from carrier to carrier, most will do it for free after you have had an account in good standing for 90 days. Otherwise, yes, a third party paid service is required and they can charge what they wish as the market allows. There are several reputable unlocking vendors as sponsor/advertisers of this forum you might try.

How long did it take you to get your code off ebay, i sent my payment on wednesday, but i still don't have the code, that and ebay sent me an e-mail saying that the listing was removed, however i already sent the payment, i'm so confused, i gues i'm just gonna ask my friend to call rogers on my behalf like tomorrow.

I wonder if rogers really don't do unlocking as the rep. told me

While this is a true statement, the OP was never a Rogers customer. There's no way Rogers would unlock it for free.

Default unlockblackberry rogers

I had gotton my rogers blackberry 8800 unlocked from the internet
theres a few websites that offer remote unlock code service...where you email them your IMEI , and they email you back with your unlock code.
I tried ebay..and its just a scam, fake codes or there just temp codes.
I found two websites that look good
unlockblackberry.com
or
unlockblackberry.mobi

Not sure who you tried on ebay, but Mr.Unlocker on ebay permanently unlocked my Rogers BlackBerry 8800r for $69.99 USD, and Mr.Unlocker's feedback is proof, unlike other unlocker's fake codes, temporary codes, and scam you by taking your money.

I trust ebay, but i do not trust 3rd party websites, because i have been scammed in the past from online sites like unlockblackberry.com, and unlockblackberry.mobi.

Unlockblackberry.com charges $125 USD, and unlockblackberry.mobi charges $80 USD, so i will continue using Mr.Unlocker on ebay, because his price is the cheapest, his unlock code works, and i am protected as a buyer by ebay.

Default Blackberry unlocking

I had the same problem...I tried Ebay, but I never got an email back or nothin
there are alot of scams online, and most guys on ebay never come through, or claim that there software will work...but don't hold up!
I ordered my blackberry unlock code from
http://www.unlockgsmblackberry.com
and they emailed my unlock code in 2 days.

You want to unlock your blackberry, if you want to be able to switch gsm compaines....Fido is cheaper than Rogers thats why i got my 8800 unlocked.

Rogers and fido will not give unlock codes period end of story. You want it unlocked go to a third party company.

Each company if different. Hence my tmo will buy Rogers won't its the respectives companies choice
