Default Save Applications to Memory Card

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

I am new to Blackberry's and RIM, so I may have a lot of questions for a while as I am getting used to it.

It seems like we can only place multi-media (Music, Video, Pictures, Ring Tones) types of data on the microSD Memory Card that will be used automatically by the blackberry.

However there doesn't seem to be anyway to save applications or themes to the memory card. When I download an application or theme it doesn't give me a choice of where to save it like it does when it is a multi-media type of file.

I sure hope I am wrong. One of the things I liked about my previous Palm and Windows Mobile phones where that I could put anything on the memory card that the phone could use short of the OS itself. Since the Pearl only has 19MB of space available for storing stuff on the phone itself this could get crowded quickly with applications and games.

Please let me know if it is possible and if so how to do it.

Regards,

-Creepy

Not possible to save apps to media card, just media. You can store them as data but they cant be run.

That's A Super Idea! I think I am going to save all my apps and themes to my BB media card. But I have one question, "Where do I put this stuff, or does it not matter"?

You can copy anything you want over to the media card via the PC (connect it in Mass Media mode and it looks like a hard drive) but you can not use it.

Feel free to save stuff there.

Does RIM have plans to allow the viewing of PDF/DOC/XLS/etc... from the media card?
