You do have a Blackberry Data Plan on your account, right?
Without a BB Data Plan, all you have is a phone and the ability to send/receive SMS messages. You won't have e-mail, browser, or other Internet related connectivity.

Go into Options / About and see what version is installed. If it is running anything newer than 4.2.0.42, then the ringer bug is fixed.

It needs to be a BLACKBERRY data plan.... not a T-Zones Data Plan.
Do you have a Blackberry Data Plan, or some other data plan?

well my dealer plan includes 10mb free tzones and then unlimited i2 internet data

when i was choosing my rep told me if i wanted unlimited data to choose the unlimited i2 internet data plan, she is known for not being the best rep.. BUT i think she is right on this one.. of the plans listed BlackBerry data plan was not on there, only the unlimited blackberry email was listed

That won't work.
I'm not sure how much clearer we can be here.
You need a BLACKBERRY DATA PLAN.
Nothing else will work.

You have to call T-Mobile (or go back to the dealer) and tell them you need the BlackBerry Data Plan; T-Zones does nothing on a BlackBerry.

Gives more credibility to the theory that some dealers have no clue about BBs.

But they do know when the new ones are coming out, right?

What's so hard to understand here?
Unlimited i2 Internet Data is USELESS! It won't work.
You need a BLACKBERRY DATA PLAN. Period. End of Story. Nothing further to discuss.

That's the last word on this from me. I've lost my patience really quickly on this one.

You were misinformed by the dealer.

Neither T-Zones nor Unlimited i2 Internet Data work on a BlackBerry.

All you will have is voice and SMS text. No T-Zones. Nothing. In order to fully utilize a BlackBerry, have the dealer (or T-Mobile Customer Care) remove those and add the BlackBerry Data Plan...

Since it's a dealer line, you will have to go through Special Account Care. FYI.

I was in the TMO store today and even they admitted that they were not really up to speed on the BB plans. The little brochures they hand out don't even have the "Minutes and Mail" plans (which BTW have unlimited text and IM and cheaper overage charges than a standard plan with a BB add on).

correct, one of the plans to choose from was a plan with 500 minutes w/myfaves and unlimited data and BB email and 1000 sms.. dealer price was 20 bucks so the retail price will prob be around 59.99
