Question Plz help me

Hi all,

I am a mac person who has gruginly accepted that I just gotta use a PC for all this BB action. After a few weeks of trying to get apps to install and such with mac I think i have messed up my BB's software. I have that problem of getting themes to show up in the theme list, even OTA ones.

I want to do a total wipe of my phone, reinstall a good OS, and see if she can work. Yesteday I got on a PC and tried to install the new TIM release, but I dont know If it worked out right. Here are a few questions.

--So there is Desktop Manager App, I downloaded the latest one. I then opened the setup for the 72 meg TIM release, followed the steps, installed ok. (I rebooted PC) NOW... When i plug in the phone, (i am currently running tmo 4.2.0.64) I thought I would be prompted to update, I was not. It almost seems like the TIM is just another desktop manager. Could someone explain the basics of installing a new OS for me?

PS - I ran a backup/restore, and now I am getting that 'No service book information found' error like other TIM users. Did I do the install? When I go to 'about' on my phone, I still show running OS 4.2.0.64. I thought the TIM was a whole new phone OS? Someone just help me wipe my device!

Delete the filed named "vendor.xml" from c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and try plugging in and running DM again.

Do it in this order:

Install DM
Download and install (install by double clicking the file you downloaded) the OS to the PC.
Delete Vendor.xml
Plug in BB and run DM.

You have to delete vendor.xml AFTER installing the OS file. You have to delete it each time you install another OS file. It loads back each time.
