Default noobie unlocking question

Please Login to Remove!

So I have a 7100g with cingular. My buddy just gave me his tmobile 8100 pearl. He called tmobile and they emailed him the unlock code. So my question is do I need his sim card in the pearl to unlock it? When I put my cingular sim card in to unlock it says no valid sim card.

help

You do not need a SIM card in to unlock the Pearl. Just make sure the radio is turned off.

Find the little icon that looks like an antenna and reads "Turn Wireless Off".

Also, check out the online help system, and the many excellent FAQs at the top of each forum.
