Hello to all, I am having two problems with my pearl, one if I enter a contact directly into the phone, I cannot see it under my address book, secondly, I transfered my contacts from outlook and the same thing, nothing in my address book. It's pretty much blank. Somehow my contact are somewhere in the phone, but I just cannot view them. If I receive a call, I see who's calling, name and number. One thing I should mention is that I don't have Bplan internet plan.

Not having the BB Data Plan should not preclude your address book from working. Try pulling your battery while the BB is powered and see if that will restore your Address Book. Can you see contacts if you go to Phone, Menu, Call from address book?

Do you have the categories set? To check, go to your address book, then press menu and select filter (at the very top) and then make sure none of the categories are checked. Hope this helps.

Yup that would have been my guess at your issue also.

If your contacts are not saved as personal or Company then having either of the filter options selected is actively hiding them from you. to check they are there goto Address Book and options to see number of entries down the bottom.

Yes I do, however I am only able to see only recent calls, plus I can see their contact info there, but no from the address book.

I don't see filter under the address book menu, here is what I see:

Got it, none of my contacts have business or personal, I will go through each one and correct it

You don't need to. They should show up if you have neither of them checked in filtering option. Have you tried a battery pull??

Well the OP said that the phone was previously owned by a friend, the friend prob had categories set, but forgot to take them off. To get to the section to uncheck them go to the address book ---> click the menu key (the one immediately to the left of the Pearl) ---> at the top there should be filter ---> make sure business and personal are not checked.

It is there just under the SIM Phone. Go to the address book and click on MENU. Scroll down and select SIM Phone Book. You should see your entered contacts there. Select Menu again and there is an option there to Copy All to the address book.
