I am ready to jump in and get a Pearl on TMO (at least try it for a couple weeks). I will be on BIS. Is there anything special my IT dept would have to do? Or do I just need to plug in my user name, password, domain and url and BIS does all the rest?

Philly, you should be set to go, BIS is pretty darn simple to setup and maintain. Come back here if you have questions...

I thought BIS polls the OWA server, so it's not true push, but close enough.

The Blackberry (and BIS) doesn't know what "work" e-mail is, nor does it care.
If the corporate e-mail server is accessible by one of the several connectivity methods supported by BIS, then it will work just fine.
There's nothing that requires you to use BES for work e-mail.

In this case OWA... which is supported by BIS.
