Do i need any additional applications or software in order to open video attachments with my Pearl? I bring new meaning to the term novice so simple replies would be appreciated

Pearl is fairly specific in what video will play. Most likely your attatchements will not be the correct format. Suggest you read over the video format threads for more detailed info. I have used the Blackberry Video Converter from Seabyrd Tech to prepare video for my 8100 with good results and it is VERY simple to use. Good Luck!

Even if the video is in the right format, the file will probably be too large to download.

Create them on your PC then transfer them using Media Manager. If you don't have a microSD card then you are limited at around 2.5 Mb. If you get a media card then you can use the card like a thumb drive and transfer the files that way.

So no media card constitutes to a 5 second movie.
